Tobacco-Free Premium Discounts
Even if you missed the January 1 deadline, you can still save premiums in the coming plan year. Once you've been tobacco-free for six months, you can submit an affidavit and have your premium reduced. If you quit now, six months from now your premium can be reduced.
If you want to quit using tobacco, we offer the following benefits:
- An office visit with a physician twice per 12-month period for smoking-related counseling.
- Nicotine patches at no cost to the member; both the deductible and the copayment are waived on nicotine patches when prescribed by a physician and purchased at a network pharmacy.
- All other prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) tobacco cessation products after deductible with the applicable generic, preferred or non-preferred copayment, depending on their status on PEIA's Preferred Drug List.
No need to enroll in a program. When you're ready to quit, just schedule a visit with your doctor to discuss quitting and get a prescription for any covered over-the-counter product or prescription medication to help you quit.
