If you have a medical condition that doesn’t require a trip to the emergency room but won’t wait for the next appointment with your doctor, consider an urgent care practice near you. Urgent care physicians can address many medical issues, including lacerations, flu conditions and other immediate problems.
And the nice thing is the cost is typically lower than a trip to the emergency room. For an in-network urgent care visit under Plan A, you pay your deductible plus 20 percent. For the emergency room, you pay $50 in addition to the deductible and 20 percent. (See your Shopper’s Guide for more examples.)
